Give to an individual volunteer

It is possible for gifts and donations to be made to help Father's Heart volunteers who have demonstrated an unusual dedication, giftedness, humble and coachable attitude and spiritual maturity. These individuals are not employees with the Father's Heart but have asked for permission to be added to the list of candidates to receive donations to help offset their costs related to volunteering in this ministry. These costs include travel expense, phone expense, camp expense, club materials such as crafts, toys and rewards to children, certain approved ministry tools such as cameras, computers and software, and compensation for time away from work without pay. What it does NOT include is payment for any service, skill or time rendered to our organization, which is strictly on a volunteer basis. Each gift must be used only for approved ministry expenses, not personal expenses unrelated to the ministry. If ministry items are purchased with donations receipts will be kept in the Father's Heart to show how the money was used.

Just being a volunteer for a certain length of time does not alone qualify a person to become a candidate to receive gifts and donations, nor does application and acceptance guarantee that this is for a specific time period or cannot be ended unilaterally by either party. There is a process of acceptance and removal from candidacy which is the same for everyone and is not specifically tailored to any individual based upon their service, skills or time to be rendered to the organization. Among the things we are looking for, in addition those listed above, is high integrity, a team spirit, history of volunteer service, and especially respect for leadership. These are very subjective qualities which may change over time and therefore a candidate must not just display these qualities initially but continually in order to remain a candidate to receive gifts and donations.

Once a volunteer has applied for and been accepted to become a candidate for gifts and donations their name will be added to this list and remain on the list so long as he or she remains a candidate. If a person has been a candidate and wishes to either be removed or is placed in temporary suspension the money that is still on the account will either be disbursed to the candidate or remain on the account until the suspension is completed, at which time it will be either reimbursed to the donor or else to the candidate. At no time or for any reason will any money be transferred to another candidate, account or cause other than that to which it is intended by the donor so long as it is to an approved candidate at the time of the donation and for an approved ministry expense.

No expense is charged either to the donor or to the candidate other than bank fees for transferring the funds. 100% will go to the candidate and he or she will receive a report of donations to know who gave and how much was given. A four digit number, called "variable symbol", will be assigned to each candidate so that the donor can designate their gift to the specific candidate of his or her choice. The Father's Heart will safeguard that all donations are used by the candidate for approved ministry expenses. If no variable symbol is used every effort will be made to determine the intended recipient, including contacting the donor when possible, before putting the funds into a general ministry account.

Tax deductible donations will not be possible for those outside of Slovakia or the United States. In the latter case, if a donor wishes a tax donation it must be requested specifically as a "gift in kind."

The list of approved applicants for candidacy to receive gifts and donations in compensation for expenses incurred as a volunteer in the Father's Heart organization are as follows. This list will be updated and amended as necessary and it is up to the donor to make sure that the person they are intending to give to is still on the approved list.
